As said in the Channel 5’s Show-Me-State Signatures interview with Owner John Schenk, the generosity is genuine and inspired by his sister. The support the community gave his family while his sister was receiving her transplant drove him to want give back to the community in return.

Yes, it's true that Show-Me-State Signatures is a relatively young company and that John Schenk is a young man. It's also true that John is one of the sharpest, most professional and most dedicated people I've seen come into the hobby in a long time. He knows the business side and is obviously successful but is also true collector himself which is very important.

He's proven himself with a flurry of successful private signings--one seemingly more impressive than the last. He knows baseball--and his appreciation of the game's history is refreshing. How hard does he work? Let's just say it's not uncommon to get an email from John at 1 a.m., asking a question or telling me what he's working on. He's the kind of fresh blood this hobby needs; enthusiastic, courteous and responsive with an uncommon ability to communicate at every level.

John Schenk is a 16 year old sophomore attending St. John Vianney High School in Kirkwood Missouri. He is an incredible young man. While many teenagers are playing video games and hanging around with peers, John is conversing with adults and transacting business deals. John has already organized his own business, now runs the daily operations and envisions expansion for the future. He has a natural smile that lights up a room and an easy going personality which allows him to earn the trust of such sports greats as Red Schondienst, Pete Rose, Marty Marion and Ken Reitz. John already sees the bigger picture of the world. He demonstrates this by giving a portion of his revenues to the National Kidney Foundation.
